As a breeder of many moons of the magnificent ragdoll I never dreamed that some day I would be looking at another breed.  I  was so captivated  with the beauty and nature of the ragdoll that I could never consider breeding a different cat, that was until now.

One day while doing some research on the computer I came across an article on the Burmilla which really interested me.  Not long after I saw a segment on Dr.Harry’s Practice with Katrina and her lovely Burmilla, this sparked the interest to look into the Burmilla even more.

As luck may have it I came across some really wonderful girls who have bent over backwards to give me all the information and help that I needed to make a decision if this was the cat I wanted to have.  That was, Robin Moller from Hindmarsh Cattery and Lyn Varney  from Norlyn Cattery, to whom I am greatly indebted.

Robin was a real gem in sending me mountains of information on the Burmillas, countless phone calls, plus the name of good friends that she worked with in the breeding program, namely, Lyn Varney and Val Stewart. All of these girls have put me in contact with a network of very good Burmilla breeders who will help me in my pursuit of excellence to breed these charming characters.

At the time Robin had a delightful brown shaded girl called Wendy, who is now affectionately known as  “ Wendy Woo the Weasel”, - She is the most lovable larakin you would ever meet.  Lyn had a stunning black shaded girl of the same age called “Sharlet Rose”, who is the perfect lady, she loves to be with you at all times, melting your heart with those magnificent big green eyes.  Both of these girls are Long Haired Burmillas.

I could not believe my good fortune to find such treasures together.  As these kittens with long hair only come up in the early Generations I had to apply to my Cat Association for permission to breed them, this  has now been granted to me.  Since acquiring these  beautiful girls I have been entrusted to care for Robin, two more of her girls, also a show stopper boy who is already a Grand Champion. and Supreme winner.”Rama” and a Long Haired Future Stud “Adonis”.

The Burmilla is totally different from the Ragdoll who is the sweetest, lovable coach potato you would ever wish to own.  The Burmilla is life itself, beautiful silken touch soft coats, tails like a possum, with  very loving natures.  They rush to greet the visitors at the door and are great friends with the other cats..

Whoever said that as a breeder you can only really love one type of a cat.  That must have been someone who had never been swept away by a Burmilla.

I look forward with great pleasure to the day that my  little treasures will give me some beautiful babies - It will indeed, be exciting, challenging days ahead.
